All Aboard! Permission for Weirdness...
What if there's a world that celebrates all of the weirdos? The ones who go so full-throttle on being themselves that they inevitably inspire others to own their weird too. It's possible...
It’s my belief that the world needs more people not being afraid to step into their authentic selves, to let their freak flags fly high, to live chasing rabbits down holes, and to throw their sparkle bombs into the air!
The biggest gift I’ve started to give myself is to say fuck it and put both feet into the glittery abyss that is fully me. We need more celebration of color, creativity, goofy shit, things that make you go “What exactly am I looking at right now?”, and unbridled belly-shaking laughter.
If you don’t already know me, I call myself The Funny Runner because I needed to invent something “legit-sounding” when I quit my job in 2017 to pursue a professional running career at the same time as a professional career in comedy. (Someone call the Ambitious Brigade).
While my traditional pursuit of on-stage comedy has taken a backseat (for now), my running career is in full force having just gottten back from competing at the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships in Innsbruck, Austria (a life dream), still being the only person to have won all-four races at the runDisney Dopey Challenge, and being sponsored by The North Face. I wear a lot of hats: pro runner, Disney lover, digital collage artist, and running coach for Mercuria Running. (Seriously, can someone get the Ambitious Brigade here stat?!)
If you do know me, you know that I wear costumes while looking for pennies on my runs, my dream is to be on Broadway and/or Disney, and my love language is emojis.
My goal for this Substack is to create a space to say what I want to say in a way that excites me, to cheer on my fellow weirdos by sharing their fun stuff, and to bring just a little joy to your day.
Thank you for being on this ride with me and for being YOU!
Welcome to my weird art. I make digital collage art, basically Frankensteining together the visions in my head.
